Plantex®Platinium has been especially developed to prevent invasive weed such as Japanese knotweed and giant hogweed effectivly and reliably from spreading. These weeds often compete with native plants and replace them. Besides the ecological problems these invasive plants also often cause health issues. The disposal of garden waste or soil with Japanese knotweed already causes considerable problems in some regions of Germany. With Plantex®Platinium the weeds can be covered and rendered innocuous on the spot so that an expansion can be averted.

Plantex®Platinium is extremely tear-resistant. It even prevents strongest weeds from getting through it. On the other hand Plantex®Platinium is highly permeable to water, damp and air. These characteristics ensure that the microbiological nature of the soil is not concerned by covering it with Plantex®Platinium.
